Kwashiorkor and marasmus are two clinical syndromes observed in severe acute malnutrition. In this review, we highlighted the differences between these by reviewing data comparing kwashiorkor literature, combined with recent microbiological findings meta-analysis. Depletion of antioxidants, vitamins minerals were more than marasmus.
